Framework is a 5×12 ortholinear keyboard using through-hole components and features a rotary encoder. It runs on QMK firmware and is completely customizable + programmable.

Important note
This kit requires soldering a fine pitch through-hole USB C connector. It can be challenging if you don’t have a lot of soldering experience. I will provide guidance and support for this kit, but I cannot warranty it or make guarantees.

  • 3x acrylic layers (2 sandwich pieces, 1 component shield)
  • All mounting hardware (M2 machine screws, nuts, aluminum spacers)
  • 2x 2u Cherry stabilizers

  • Rubber feet (flat and slanted options included)
  • Pre-flashed microcontroller with USB bootloader + VIA compatible keymap

Optional kit add-ons

  • Silicone plate damper (0.5 mm or 1.0 mm)

  • Assembly service (will be tested and confirmed working before shipped)

What you’ll need to assemble the kit

  • Soldering iron
  • Solder flux
  • Solder
  • Wire cutters
  • Tape (to hold the components to the board while you solder)
  • Pliers (to remove panelization tabs)
  • Sandpaper or a nail file (to sand down panelization mouse bites)
  • 1.3 mm hex key
  • 4 mm nut driver or wrench

What you’ll need to complete the keyboard

  • Key switches (MX footprint)
  • Key caps
  • Rotary encoder knob (if you didn’t order one from me)
